Chapter 4: The System

After parting ways with Mo Fan and Xiou Hou, I made my way home, eager to unravel the mysteries of the system and the items I had obtained.

My modest house greeted me – a small space with a living room connected to the kitchen and a simple washroom. Without wasting any more time, I sank into the couch, tossing my bag into a corner. I called out the system in my mind, and once again, the translucent screen materialized before me.

Again I marveled at my stats which seemed above average in all sections but the fact that I had no skills saddened me. While I was looking at my status window a new screen came in front of me.

I looked at the fatigue which had increased from 0 to 11 I tried clicking on it and then a detailed explanation of it came in front of my eyes.

[Fatigue:The accumulation of exhaustion from day-to-day movement. The higher it climbs, the harder it becomes to maneuver, potentially slowing you down]

After reading it I knew that it represents the tiredness of my body in a numerical form. After that, I knew about most of the stats like strength, stamina, etc but I still wanted to know about perception so I clicked on it even though the screen wasn't in physical form it still felt like a smartphone.

[Perception: The swiftness of your body's reaction speed. A crucial balance, for high speed without keen senses may lead to collisions]

The importance of perception in battles struck me, and I made a mental note to hone this crucial stat.

After going through all the stats I started to check my inventory as I wanted to know about the items that I wished for.

First I took out the compass in my hands unlike the movie , its exterior now cloaked in a deep shade of black and after opening it I saw that it had a compass in the lower part and a game map floating above it with a search bar on the map. Opening it revealed a floating game map with a search bar, an unexpected upgrade.

The Hogyoku, bathed in bluish-purple radiance, captivated my attention. After a while a screen materialized, inviting me into a contract

With a resolute 'yes,' the luminosity intensified, accompanied by a stinging sensation on my chest that, in turn, led to a fleeting loss of consciousness.
