Chapter 18: Frozen Confrontation
Regina Glacialis Confronts Drax
At that moment, everything froze—not just movement, but time itself. Drax stood alone amidst the stillness, his mind racing as he felt the overwhelming presence behind the phenomenon. It wasn’t just the power; it was the person wielding it.
Drax thought, At this rate, I can’t hold back anymore.
Regina's voice pierced through the silence. Regina: "I can hear your thoughts. I guess you're cooking up some escape plan, but it’s all useless. At last, I will get my revenge."
Drax turned toward her, the overwhelming pressure nearly unbearable. She stepped forward, her icy aura intensifying as the world around them shimmered with frost.
Regina: "After giving me the knowledge that changed me, you left without a word. Since that day, I knew you were extraordinary. I yearned to see you again. I practiced for thousands of years, shedding my weaker self, just to face you. When I entered the rankings and discovered you were Number One, I sought you out. And now, here you are."
Her piercing gaze locked onto Drax, who remained silent. His thoughts churned with frustration. Why are humans such a pain? I just wanted to rest, but now another one pesters me. The power I feel from her is overwhelming. I have to find a way to escape.
Regina: "Why act so pathetically? Answer my questions."
Drax: "..." Why must I deal with this now?
As Drax struggled to respond, a sharp force materialized out of nowhere, striking him. He staggered, but his body regenerated almost instantly, leaving him unfazed.
Regina: "It is really you. Even after facing such a blow, you show no sign of pain or despair. How fascinating."
Drax, unfazed, clenched his fists. Regina’s aura grew colder, the air slicing like blades around him. Summoning his resolve, he immediately called upon Greg. The frozen metallic liquid suspended in the air shattered, reforming into a humanoid figure.
Greg stood tall, adopting a defensive stance to shield its master.
Drax stood still as Regina’s icy presence continued to loom over him. His thoughts were clouded with confusion and frustration. By the way, do I know her from somewhere? She keeps blabbering on about this and that. Tsk, what a pain.
He glanced at her, the weight of her words sinking in. Yet, his mind was more focused on finding a way to break free from her overwhelming grip. But there was no room for escape. Her power was far beyond anything he had expected.
