Chapter 6: Chains resilience

With his tattered clothes, Todd knelt on the ground, his chains lying beside him. He stared intently at something he held in his arms - a piece of his parents' garment, covered in blood, their bodies nowhere in sight. Fear gripped him as he considered the worst possible outcomes, tears of blood streaming down his face. He cried out loudly, his voice echoing in the desolate region.

"Why... why... why..." he repeated, his voice trembling with despair. Remembering his ability to sense emotions from slain zombies, he pondered aloud, "If that's possible, then who absorbed them?" Rage burned in his eyes.

Suddenly, he heard footsteps approaching.

Unknown Figure: "Oi, the fuck are you doing in someone else's region? Lost, are ya?"

Todd looked back to see a fat zombie with a tattered apron, blood staining his clothes. The zombie towered over Todd, eyeing him like prey.

Todd: "You smell like Mom and Dad."

Fat Zombie: "Pitiful boy, searching for your parents in this world. Everyone in this region is now a part of me. Why not join them and be reunited?"

Todd wiped his tears, a sense of relief washing over him. "At least I know where they are now."

Fat Zombie: "What do you mean by that, boy?"

Todd stood up defiantly. "Why don't we change the condition and make you a part of me, Chef?"

Fat Zombie: "Interesting kid. So, what's the plan?"

Todd: "I'm going to devour you after killing you."

Fat Zombie: "Weird. Shouldn't you be emotionally broken after hearing that? Or are you like me?"

Todd: "I don’t know why I don't feel that bad, but all I know is I want to kill you right now."

Todd accessed the system panel and discovered he had acquired a skill called telekinesis. He swiftly retrieved his chains, tying them around his hands, while the chef brandished two long knives from his apron.

Todd rushed towards the chef with immense speed, launching a punch towards his face. The chef blocked it with his knives, pushing Todd towards the wall. Todd then telekinetically hurled chain ends at the chef, piercing his body. As the chef raised his blades, Todd dodged, realizing the invisible slashes were separating objects in their path.

Despite his body being cut apart, Todd pressed on, delivering punches and evading the chef's attacks. He then rushed towards the chef to punch him in the face while chains were tied to his arm which was blocked with created an opening for his neck to be cut but he caught this attack with his teeth but the invincible slash still passed through which cut his head off. Eventually, he used telekinesis on his chains to knock the his head off his hands, reattaching it to the body on the ground.

Fat Zombie: "I still have the offer of you giving your head to me."

Todd: "You couldn’t cut the chains."

Fat Zombie: "What?"

Todd: "You couldn’t cut the chain. Or are you just weak?"

Fat Zombie, enraged, grabbed Todd's neck, only to find he had eaten some of the chains.
