Chapter 20: Infiltration From The Sky

12 paratroopers, clad in stealthy black tactical gear, soared through the moonlit sky. Camouflaged by the night they deployed their parachutes and gracefully descended onto the roof of a colossal, ivory-white cuboid structure. It resembled an oversized shipping container, a deceptive facade concealing its true identity.

This building was documented as a cancer research facility, owned by the Ellison Group — a prominent pharmaceutical company led by Thomas Ellison, Raiden Ellison's father. However, it was a front for something more sinister. The Stormdeath Guild, funded by the Ellison Group, uses this building for research on the 'gifted'. Unbeknownst to the public, around 30 individuals with special abilities were held captive inside against their dying will. However, the assailants knew the true purpose and sought a classified individual beneath the building. The sole entrance: a solitary elevator inside the building.

Upon landing on the roof, the paratroopers swiftly discarded their parachutes, their vigilant eyes scanning for adversaries. Forming a strategic formation, they prepared to infiltrate the building.

Underneath the facility.

'Shit, this pain is unbearable.'

Acco Swilen could see his demise looming with each relentless shock.

"Give in to our demands, or die. Those are your only options right now. No hero will save you. Your only salvation lies in surrendering to our demands. As both of us know, a few more presses of this button, and you'll cease to exist," Acco declared, his words etching themselves into Runo's mind, while a wide, sinister grin adorned his face.

"3... 2... 1... GO GO GO!" The lead paratrooper burst through the metallic door on the roof, signalling the others to follow suit.

Inside, a corridor awaited, guarded by two adversaries brandishing their 'gifts.' One created rock bullets, while the other transformed into a real-life beanshooter.

"A beanshooter from the game plants vs vampires? What the fuck!" exclaimed a paratrooper.

"Awww, it's so CUTE!" blushed a female paratrooper.

Immediately the lead paratrooper responded, conjuring a transparent barrier wall, shielding the team from the attackers' onslaught. Seizing the opportunity for a counterstrike, the paratrooper slightly lifted the barrier, enough for another paratrooper to slide under the barrier, flanking the security guards and rendering them unconscious with swift, powerful strikes.

In the corridor was a security camera but luckily the team of paratroopers were still not spotted as the guard in the camera control centre was fast asleep, lazing around with a cat-like sleeping mask around his eyes.

Advancing down the corridor, the paratroopers reached a door leading to a metal railing attached to the ceiling, overlooking a busy room. The agonising screams of tortured 'gifted' individuals filled the air. Limbs missing, minds shattered, some resisting their tormentors.

The lead paratrooper signalled his team, pointing out all of the guards below, following the instructions they all got into position. Jumping down, they incapacitated the guards before they could unleash their 'gifts.'

The scientists conducting experiments were alerted, some started cowering in fear, however one stepped forward and announced, "Everyone calm down, follow the protocol, all our data is already transferred to our other sites, only one of us needs to escape and the other guards will be here soon."

As they fled, one scientist pressed a red button, triggering an alarm that reverberated throughout the building. Chasing the scientists, the paratroopers faced a new challenge—a swarm of guards bursting through a door. A chaotic battle ensued as scientists scattered in different directions.

"Shit!" muttered a paratrooper, delivering a punch to a security guard's face knocking out some of his teeth.

"I miss the beanshooter guy! Now it's just these fat and hideous security guards!" another paratrooper exclaimed, venting frustration after crying.

Meanwhile, a scientist entered the camera control center, finding the guard still asleep amidst the chaos and the flashing alarm.

"WAKE UP, YOU IMBECILE!" the scientist shouted, jolting him awake by punching him in his fleshy and hairy belly.

The scientist then moved to the computer deleting all the data from the building and then opened a software that had control over the building, after some slight hesitation he finally pressed the mouse that was over a button labelled self-destruction. The scientist had sealed the fate of the building. Explosions erupted, shockwaves resonated, and the fate of the paratroopers and Runo remained unknown.
