Chapter 1: The Beginning of the End

The world was in chaos. The newscaster’s voice trembled as he reported the chilling news. “Today’s weather report: the Earth has entered a new Ice Age. Temperatures continue to plummet at an alarming rate with no signs of recovery. But, let us not lose hope. The government assures us they haven’t abandoned their people.”

His hopeful message was cut short as a massive airplane came crashing down, ending the broadcast abruptly. The screen went dark, leaving viewers in despair.

Hanfang sat in his small, grim apartment, surrounded by bags of emptied supplies. The electricity had long since gone out, leaving the room cold and dark. He could see his breath in the frigid air as he sat, contemplating his next move. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

Grabbing his bloody baseball bat, Hanfang approached the door cautiously. He peeked through the peephole and saw a terrified, shivering woman on the verge of freezing. It was Hona, his crush.

Without hesitation, he opened the door and pulled her inside. “It’s dangerous out there, especially with looters roaming around,” he said, his face turning red despite the freezing temperature.

Hona threw herself into Hanfang’s arms, kissing him passionately. They shared the warmth of their bodies through their lips, losing track of time. But just as Hanfang closed his eyes, thinking they would become true lovers, someone crept out of the shadows.

Pain shot through Hanfang’s body as he staggered back to his room, feeling exhausted and confused. He looked at his hand, where beams of light were shooting out. The green light felt different from the red one he had seen before. The green light made his heart race, while the red light felt more stable.

Sitting on the sofa, Hanfang tried to calm his mind and understand what was happening. The green light seemed to affect the soybeans he had in his hand, making them grow rapidly. But he still didn’t know how to control these powers.

Days passed, and Hanfang continued to experiment with his newfound abilities. He discovered that the green light promoted growth, while the red light caused disintegration. Using these powers, he managed to grow food, but the process was exhausting and unpredictable.

Meanwhile, the outside world grew more dangerous. Hanfang encountered looters and desperate people fighting for survival. He hoarded supplies, knowing that the apocalypse was just beginning. The blizzard outside showed no signs of stopping, and the temperature kept dropping.

Hanfang knew he had to learn how to control his powers if he wanted to survive. As he sat in his cold, dark apartment, he made a promise to himself: he would master his abilities, protect his supplies, and survive the Ice Age apocalypse. No matter what.
