Chapter 2: The Sweeping of Gutter Part 1

The alarm rang cheerfully. All the students who had been discussing each other suddenly fell silent. They began to tidy up the pile books on the table. The lecturer, who was plugging in his laptop. called the student leader in a calm voice.

"Yogi, later you will send discussion material for next week via WA. For the others, just ask Yogi or you can share it through the class group if there is one," said Mr. Gardi.

The middle-aged man with a neat suit and masculine style is an Entrepreneurship Lecturer. After finishing his afternoon class, he checked the smartphone on the table.

His gaze might have turned to the broken class clock, hoping for more, but there was only a long sigh.

He was already in class and his vision was a little blurry. Thinking that the clock on the wall was moving, Mr. Gardi shook his head slowly.

"Are my glasses broken, huh?" he muttered while looking around.

We can consider the room where his class teacher's conduct quality classes being average. Not very good, but not too bad either.

What is a matter of consideration and concern is the broken wall clock and the wall paint is starting to fade.

Apart from that, there are no other bad complaints. No other updates, except for his daughter's upcoming birthday celebration.

As a father, of course, this special and precious day will require a lot of thought. Especially talking about girls. Every father has his own worries. Likewise, with Mr. Gardi, but he immediately put that thought aside and stood up straight.

"Okay, last class is over. Don't forget to miss the fingerprint."

Hearing this, all the students in the class let go of their expressions of relief and immediately stood in line to go home.

On the other hand, Yogi checked the smartphone in his jacket pocket. There is a incoming notification from Mr. Gardi.

"R-really?"

After everyone had finished taking attendance and Mr. Gardi had disappeared from the class. A man in the room's corner diverted Yogi's attention.

"As usual, eh?"

"What's wrong, Goy? Oh! By the way do you want to eat at Rumah Steak. co? As long as there's a discount of course," said Faisal.

"I'll join if many people come"

"Ah! You're single, right, Ian?" said Faisal. "Just being asked to chat doesn't feel like I'm interested"

"Not. But yeah, usually the mascot of our entrepreneurship class, Adi. Again, that person slept really soundly," said Septian.

"Do you want to wake him up or not? Besides, Mr. Gardi is very understanding towards Adi. At first, it surprised me why Mr. Gardi didn't reprimand him from the start of class, even though he clearly didn't pay attention to his explanation"

"Hmm. It doesn't seem strange, because we ourselves know about the condition, right?" said Yogi.

Septian and Faisal just nodded with agreement.

"What else can we do? It is indeed difficult if your financial condition is inadequate especially with that name. We don't know what he's going through... never mind. So do you want to go straight?" Septian asked again.

When they nodded again. However, suddenly the place rumbled, and Faisal fell to his knees. On the other hand, if Yogi hadn't grabbed Septian's hand, maybe the young man would have fallen too, and hit Faisal.

"Gah!... "

"Thanks...," said Septian.

"No prob, but why is it rumbling? could it be an earthquake?"

"No. That's impossible. I saw the news this morning, but no one broadcast anything about earthquake anticipation," said Faisal while rubbing his butt.

"Then what?"

Septian, who asked for more explanation about the situation, started to panic a little. Meanwhile, Yogi and Faisal looked at each other. They both nodded as if they understood the situation they were currently facing.

"Never mind. Now let's go outside the faculty building first. We're afraid there's something wrong," suggest Faisal and then asked for help. "Pick me up... "

"Hah! Are you sure?" Septian asked again to confirm.

"Now is no longer the time to ask a lot of questions. It's better to just get out of here," answered Yogi and then grabbed Faisal hand. "Dis! Adis! Get up!"

However, after Yogi tried to wake him up. Adistira seemed unmoved, as if Yogi's scream was just passing wind. Septian. who felt irritated, finally called Adistira names.

"You bastard! Never mind, let's just take it off. Don't worry about Adis anymore!"

"Don't do that either. He's a classmate, you know," said Yogi with a worried expression.

"Who told you to sleep in Mr. Gardi class anyway?"

"Stop it. We've been trying to wake up him. The rest is up to Adis, whether he wants to wake up or not. Now that's his business," said Faisal.

The three of them nodded and immediately left the faculty building.

Strange sounds echoed in every hallway. Several times the outer glass shook, but did not break. All the students and who where still in the building ran frantically and left the bulding.

However, there was only one person who was still relaxing and sleeping through his sweet dream. He is Adistira. The young man immediately got up as soon his body jumped on its own and hit the floor with his face landing first.

"Aww! Guh... w-what is this?"

With dazed expression, Adis looked around him only to find the classroom empty and in a messy condition. He had absolutely no idea what had just happened and why he had gotten into such a situation.

One thing is certain, according to him, Mr. Gardi class has finished, and no one woke him up at all. Even though Yogi and his friends and tried because he was sleeping too soundly, they left Adis alone in class.

"Hmm?"

Adis got up with confused expression.

"What happened? Why is the class like this?... Whoaaa!"

Suddenly, a strong vibration hit the building again. Adis, who was still in the classroom, fell backwards and fell again. While rubbing his painful buttocks, he hurriedly got back up with a pale face.

"E-earthquake?! Guhh... why didn't anyone wake me up earlier?" he asked, then headed toward the exit.

With unsteady steps due to the building continuing to shake, like it or not, Adis could only rely in the corridor walls to survive. The shaking kept getting stronger and stronger until his body bounced again and hit the trash can.

"Gah! Ughhh!... I-i-i have to go home. They're waiting for me. I-i can't faint here...," he mumbled.

Blood was flowing from the top of his head, and he also felt a headache so intense that his efforts to stay conscious were in vain. Not longer after, his consciousness gradually faded, and finally he became unconscious.
